Janet Smith

Artistic Director of Scottish Dance Theatre, Scotland's largest contemporary dance company, for 14 years, Janet held positions at Bretton Hall College, the University of Leeds and the London Contemporary Dance School. She studied Dance and Drama at Dartington College of Arts and upon graduation continued her studies independently in New York City and at the University of Washington. She initially began working as a soloist and dancer before forming her own contemporary dance company, Janet Smith & Dancers. She is an honorary member of Dartington College of Arts and an honorary doctoral student at the University of Kent.
