Synopsis
"Sintonize" is a highly experimental work: in it, six dancers – three men and three women – perform a choreography by the Dutch choreographers Pieter de Ruiter and Eva Julia Villanueva, who use a wide range of modern and classical dance styles. The experimentalism extends beyond the choreography. The way the audience will appreciate it is what must be considered: to listen. The audience is given wireless headphones, with which they can choose the music. Two pieces of music will be offered to accompany the choreography: one by Johann Sebastian Bach and the other a contemporary Dutch composition by Martin Fondse, one of the most sought-after and respected composers on the European music scene. This concept seeks the meaning of music in contemporary dance in a profound and dramatic way.

Pieter de Ruiter founded Dansity in 1991 with the aim of creating as many strong and idiosyncratic dance productions as possible, while also creating a safe space for his versatile performing arts projects, directing, and producing multidisciplinary performances.
Until approximately the year 2000, she created award-winning productions in collaboration with many talented artists and performers under her leadership, which were exhibited throughout the Netherlands, but also internationally. In 2000, choreographer and playwright Eva Villanueva joined the management of Dansity. Together they created successful performances such as Echt? in close collaboration with director Gerardjan Rijnders and Ballast with actor Jack Wouterse and texts by filmmaker Ko van de Bosch. In 2008 she came to Brazil for the Sintonize! project with the Cisne Negro Dance Company.
