Synopsis
“…Who are you? – You are my fate! You are perhaps the ideal that this soul awaits! You are glory perhaps! Perhaps death?…” (Castro Alves). “I dedicate this revival of Elgar to the entire company and especially to the memory of Edmundo Bittencourt, who always showed a special affection for this work.” Choreography inspired by the illusion or hallucination of man, his power and mysticism.

Victor Navarro

Born in Barcelona, at the age of twelve he studied folk dance, piano and drawing at the "Escuela de Bellas Artes de Barcelona". At seventeen he was admitted as a student at the "Instituto Del Teatro de Barcelona", where he studied classical, Spanish and Catalan dance. In 1964 he was hired as a soloist dancer by the "Ballet Del Gran Teatro Del Liceo" and later by the "Zarzuela de Madrid". In 1968 he traveled to Lisbon where he began his international career, dancing for important companies such as Ballet Gulbenkian de Lisboa, Royal Ballet de Wallonie, Ballet de l'Opera de Lille and Royal Ballet de Flanders. This gave him his first opportunity as a professional choreographer with the work "Danses Sacrées et Profanes", with music by C. Debussy. In 1974 he arrived in Brazil, invited to work with the "Corpo de Baile do Teatro Municipal de São Paulo", as "Maitre de Ballet" and "Resident Choreographer". From that moment on, Victor Navarro won several important Brazilian dance awards. Victor is a member of the Consuil International of Dance (unesco) in Paris, for his confirmed experience; and belongs to the association of Dance Professionals of Catlunha and the General Society of Spanish Authors.
