Synopsis
Baobá, with general conception and direction by José Possi Neto and choreography by Dany Bittencourt, is a work presented by Cisne Negro Dance Company, a free adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince, where the Little Prince returns to Earth in search of a friend and finds an Afro-Brazilian prince with whom he discusses important themes such as: the sustainability of the planet, the rational use of natural resources, and the difference between their worlds. This is a pocket version of the original work, where the Princes sing and, in a dance-theater language, convey important messages through the Little Prince's famous phrases, such as the word "tame" when he says: "You become forever responsible for what you have tamed," in his encounter with his rose, which he believes is unique on the planet, for which he is entirely responsible… A seemingly childlike language (the child), with profound reflections (adults).
