Antônio Gomes
He began his career at Fundação Ballet de São Paulo (Balé Evolução) where he interpreted works by renowned choreographers such as Victor Navarro, Luis Arrieta, Antonio Carlos Cardoso, and Clive Thompson. During this same period he had a fundamental encounter for his career with Oscar Araiz, who took him to the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève in Switzerland. He studied classical technique in Brazil and in Europe with: Yellê Bittencourt, Alexander Minz, Jane Blauth, Tatiana Leskova, Neide Rossi, Addy Ador, Toshie Kobayashi, Heloaldo Castello Silva, Hector Zaraspe, Hilary Carthwrigth, Alphonse Poulin, Gradimir Pankov, and modern technique with Yoshi Morimoto, Clive Thompson, Noemi Lapzeson, Renate Schottelius among others. At the Grand Théâtre de Genève, she has interpreted several works by Oscar Araiz, as well as by other choreographers invited by the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, such as Mats Ek, Jiri Kylian, Christopher Bruce, Robert North, Ohad Naharin, Vasco Wellemkamp, Jamey Hampton, Ana Itelman. He also had the opportunity to work with different international personalities from Music, Opera, Theatre and Cinema, and to go on world tours with the Ballet. He began to develop his choreographic language with the Ballet Junior de Genève, thanks to the support of its director, Beatriz Consuelo. As a choreographer, Antonio Gomes was able to work with renowned dance companies, besides holding important direction positions in theaters in countries such as: Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Israel, Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
