IORM and Cisne Negro Dance Company bring free shows and an exhibition to Ribeirão Preto as part of their Cultural Week.

Ribeirão Preto will be the second city in the country to host the exhibition “Ocupação Hulda Bittencourt – Uma História com a Dança” (Hulda Bittencourt Occupation – A History with Dance), about the history of the founder of Cisne Negro Cia. de Dança, which is touring outside the capital of São Paulo for the first time, having premiered at the Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade in January of this year. The exhibition will open to the public on April 27th at the Centro Cultural Palace. Founder and artistic coordinator of Cisne Negro Cia. de Dança, Hulda Bittencourt is a central figure in the history of dance in Brazil. The opening will feature a presentation of excerpts from the ballet “Quebra-Nozes” (The Nutcracker), an iconic piece by the Company.

IORM also brings to Ribeirão Preto a presentation of four choreographies by Cisne Negro Dance Company for the Pedro II Theater, at 8 pm on April 26th, with free tickets. The choreographies presented will be: “The light that is in you…”, “Sabiá”, “Cálice” and “Expect The Unexpected / Esperar O Inesperado”.

The show and exhibition are part of the Cultural Week program, held by the Oswaldo Ribeiro de Mendonça Institute – IORM in Ribeirão Preto. The Week will also bring to the stage of the Pedro II Theater the show Roots and Wings, presented by Usina da Dança, a social inclusion and dance project developed by the Institute.
