Neyde Rossi began her ballet studies at the age of six, in São Paulo. Later, she enrolled in Maria Olenewa's private course, where she was taught by her teacher for six years. When she was only 14, she auditioned for the Ballet do IV Centenário, in 1953, and was accepted. There, she went through a rapid evolution. She went from trainee to corps de ballet dancer to second soloist until, at the company's premiere in Rio de Janeiro, at the end of 1954, she was already first soloist.
With the disbanding of the Ballet in mid-1955, Neyde joined other colleagues from there and, under the tutelage of Ismael Guiser, lived the six months the Ballet of the São Paulo Museum of Art lasted.
During 1956, she danced with the corps de ballet of the Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, but, in 1957, she returned to join another attempt to establish a stable corps de ballet in São Paulo: the Cultura Artística Theater Ballet. There, she starred in ballets such as Susanna Faini's "Cinderella" (1957), in which she danced the title role alongside Raul Severo.
Once again the initiative failed, and in 1958 Neyde was already dancing with another group founded by Guiser, the Ballet Independente Amigos da Dança, which premiered the program in October of that year with Pas de Quatre", by Anton Dolin, with music by Pugni, re-staged by Tatiana Leskova and costumes by Alice Brugnaro according to a lithography by Chalon
