\u00a0\"The Nutcracker\" - by Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a and with Ana Botafogo's participation<\/b><\/p>\n

Santander Theater will host two performances of the already classic Christmas show of Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a, \"The Nutcracker\", which this year completes the 38th edition. The performances will take place on November 22 and 23, with music by Tchaikovsky and special participation of Ana Botafogo, ballerina and one of the main names of classical ballet in the country, as Mrs. Stahlbaun, Clara's mother. The show is performed by Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a's permanent corps de ballet and a cast hired specially for the production. Besides Botafogo, the show will receive other guests, such as the 1st Dancers of the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, M\u00e1rcia Jaqueline, who also performs at the Salzburger Landestheater, in Austria, and C\u00edcero Gomes, as well as actor Felipe Carvalhido, who has been playing the character Drosselmeyer for 14 years.<\/p>\n

The play, divided in two acts, tells the fantasy of Clara, a girl who gets many presents on Christmas Eve, but is especially charmed by one of them - a nutcracker doll. When everyone goes to bed, Clara goes into the living room to play with her new present, falls asleep, and enters a universe where the toys come to life, dance, and fight, transporting them to The Kingdom of Snows and The Kingdom of Sweets. There, Clara and her prince are honored with typical dances from various countries and a graceful grandpa's-de-deux by the Sugar Fairy. Created in 1891 by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the version staged by Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a has artistic direction by Hulda Bittencourt and Dany Bittencourt. Traditional in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, the show, which received the State Governor's Award as Best Dance Show - Popular Preference, also counts on the collaboration of renowned rehearsers in the area of dance, such as the maitre d' and international dancer Daniela Severian, and the assistant director of Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a, Patr\u00edcia Alquezar.<\/p>\n
