Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a presents the 36th season of The Nutcracker at Teatro Alfa, <\/strong> As it happens every year, we will be presenting our traditional Christmas show \"The Nutcracker\", this year in its 36th edition, from 12 to 22.12.2019 (except for December 16th and 17th) and matinees on Saturdays and Sundays, totaling 13 performances at Teatro Alfa, in S\u00e3o Paulo, with the permanent cast of Cisne Negro Cia. de Dan\u00e7a, a cast specially hired for the production (dancers and actors) and guest soloists of international renown; this year we will have Marcelo Gomes<\/strong>Brazilian, International Ballet Star, Alice Mariani<\/strong>Italian, 1st ballerina of the Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Germany and the Brazilians Cicero Gomes<\/strong>1st ballet dancer of the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro and his partner Manuela Ro\u00e7ado<\/strong> (Rio de Janeiro). Traditional in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, it received the State Governor's Award as Best Dance Show - popular preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With artistic direction by Hulda Bittencourt<\/strong> e Dany Bittencourt<\/strong>It counts with the collaboration of rehearsers of expression in the area of dance, such as the dancer and maitre d'. Daniela Severian<\/strong> and the Cisne Negro Cia de Dan\u00e7a's rehearser, Patricia Alquezar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the circus special effects and fabric acrobatics, the Circo Escola Picadeiro, considered to be one of the most respected circus schools in our country, founded in 1983 by Wilson Moura Leite<\/strong>which has in its curriculum a large number of former students working in important companies abroad, some of them even in Cirque Du Soleil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also noteworthy this year is the participation of Anjos with dancers from Usina da Dan\u00e7a, a social project developed by the Oswaldo Ribeiro de Mendon\u00e7a Institute - IORM, from Orl\u00e2ndia-SP, founded by the entrepreneur Josimara Ribeiro de Mendon\u00e7a<\/strong>which works for the integral development of children and adolescents in the Northeast region of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo, and maintains a partnership with Cisne Negro Dance Company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the lobby of the Theater, there will be a presentation of guest choirs, performing Christmas music, one hour before the beginning of the shows, under the coordination of the pianist Maria In\u00eas<\/strong> Vasconcellos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The show relies on special make-up and visagism by the Jacques Janine team, under the supervision of Chlo\u00e9 Gaya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Nutcracker tells the story of Clara and her precious Nutcracker doll, a gift from her godfather, the wizard Drosselmeyer. Together, they face a cruel battle against the King of Mice and his army, traveling through the Kingdom of Snows to the Kingdom of Sweets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"It is a work that makes us embark on Clara's dream, transporting us to a world of fascinating images, full of magic and beauty, that are forever etched in our minds and hearts\"<\/em>says Hulda Bittencourt<\/strong>founder of the company and artistic director of the show The Nutcracker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Staged in two acts, the ballet tells the fantasy of Clara, a girl who gets many presents on Christmas Eve, but is especially charmed by one of them, a nutcracker doll. When everyone goes to bed, Clara goes into the living room to play with her new present, falls asleep and enters the world of fantasy. The toys come to life, dance, fight, and travel to The Kingdom of Snows and The Kingdom of Sweets, where Clara and her prince are honored with dances typical of several countries and a graceful pas-de-de-deux by the Sugar Fairy. Synopsis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The creation of The Nutcracker was inspired by a French adaptation of an excerpt from Hoffmann's short story Nussknacker und Mauserkonig (Nutcracker and the King of the Mice). Tchaikovsky was enchanted by the sinister and fantastic colorings surrounding the story and composed the music for the ballet.
